CTC LVN nursing students receive pins

The Central Texas College (CTC) Nursing Department held pinning ceremonies Friday, December 13 in the Anderson Campus Center to honor students in the Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) program. Twenty-one students received their pins upon completing the 53 credit hours required for the LVN program. Guest speaker for the ceremony was Crystal Malone, LVN at the Hughes Unit correctional facility in Gatesville and graduate of the CTC nursing program.

Several students received awards and recognition for academic success. Graduating with high honors for maintaining at least a 3.8 grade point average was Ashley Laws. Graduating with honors for keeping a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.7 were Lauren Eck, Jamie Hughes, Jovone Johnson, Karina Palos and Markeshia Woods.

The CTC student chapter of the National Federation of Licensed Practical Nurses (NFLPN) scholarship was awarded to Anna Callen and receiving the Monarch Uniforms scholarship for achieving the highest grade on the Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI ™) Comprehensive Examination was Krista Haun.
